SAP S/4 No Release for 2024 ? and skip forward to 2025 ?

There is no version release for 2024 for on-premise S/4 ERP. Does it mean there is not future functionality or updates coming up? No, SAP has released public cloud February 2025 (2502) version.

This version has gained the AI capability momentum and SAP  digital core strategy.

There are a lot things which makes S/4 a sweet deal.

Split valuation is typically niche topic in Supply Chain, however when comes to reporting and certain Fiori apps, this was a missing attention. S4 2502 release covers some of functions to make business (and implementation team) happy to include split valuation in reporting and Fiori Apps. However there is still a lot too be modernised for this topic. Hope upcoming S4 releases gives modern approach to split valuation functionality.

SRM 7 - value of SRM in 2020

Usually being on premise system customer have flexibility to tweak system to niche requirements. This results in number of objects being customised. For example, views, enhancements, forms, workflow, reports has some flavour of customisation.

So it's worth visiting customisations as these may develop some bugs/ issues similar to .standard SAP. Also, standard objects used by these changes might have changed/ improved, which mean there is scope for improvement for custom objects as well.

Go and start tinkering these objects and you may get some juice from those.

SAP SRM 7 how to protect your investment in SAP SRM

If you had invested in your SAP SRM system then it is wise to get returns before you invest in other future system. Here is how,

-Use  this time to investigate your business processes
-Identify key business challenges
- Existing system could be used to proto type / sanbox those improvement ideas
- Offload the back end system related enhancement and make more technology agnostic changes if any planned (i.e. avoid hard wiring / hard coding)

SAP SRM new direction in coming years

The SAP SRM has the license life till 2025 (latest EHP), which means the organisation with complex (and highly complex) development can plan and prepare for the transition to new generation supplier relationship management applications (Ariba, S/4) with block by block approach.

Large organisation may need a time to migrate and stablis in new house, it is crucial that they plan such big migrations.

SAP P2P Single system to multiple system landscape

The system management is a tidious job. The test data plays the critical role in success of any support, development requirement.

There are various tools out of box from SAP (for example client copy) and third party to automate the data setup.

Well, based previous experience these tool needs to be tweaked (many be customised) to suit the organisation needs.
